Mountain sanctuary: Phraya Nakhon Cave
Venture to Phraya Nakhon Cave to see for yourself why it is considered one of the places you must see in your lifetime.

In preparation for the visit of King Chulalongkorn in 1890, the famous Kuha Karuhas Pavilion was built inside Phraya Nakhon Cave. Found in Sam Roi Yot National Park, the cave has two connecting chambers. The most stunning part is that the ceilings of the caves have collapsed, allowing brilliant rays of sun to shine down onto the cave floor. The best time to see the cave is in the morning when the light is the most beautiful. It will also be cooler in the morning, which is quite helpful since the journey to the cave requires a 45-60 minute hike up one of the park’s many mountains. To get started, ask your driver to take you to Bang Pu Village. From there, you can hike 20-30 minutes up and down a hill or take a short boat ride to Laem Sala Beach where the hiking trail begins. The cost of the boat ride varies and the boats may not be running if it is too windy.
